Sanguine consists of three musicians at the heart of Noa Records, Navakatoa Tekela-Pule (Schofield Strangelove), David Feauai-Afaese (LEAO), and Larsen Tito-Taylor (WAIWHAI.), and was born out of aroha and āwhina for each other’s music. From encouraging beginnings performing each other’s compositions in 2019, the trio have gently shaped a solid vessel of sound, weaving their diverse musical lineages together - through echoes of music from guiding forces such as The Five Stars, Chicago Underground Quartet, and David Axelrod - to form something that deeply reflects their shared presence.

At its essence, Sanguine is a project that embodies the trust, care and willingness of the group to listen into the songs lying dormant in their shared heart. An empathic group with yet more music to discover, Sanguine strives for their collectively realised paramount sound.
